Education:
M.S. Engineering, 2005
University of Technology of Troyes, France
International Exchange Program, 2003
Humboldt State University, Eureka, California
Research Interests:
Eve’s experience is comprised of two internships with the National Weather Service (NWS) in Eureka, California. During her first internship, as a programmer, she interfaced the SWAN (Simulating WAves Nearshore) model into the NWS computing environment. Eve was invited back from France for a second internship where she coordinated a consistent operational approach among five offices and implemented a wave partitioning algorithm.
Currently, Eve conducts research led by Dr. Jeffrey L. Hanson, research oceanographer at USACE. They compare SWAN with other wave models, current circulation models and visual observations to determine an accurate wave forecasting model for the near shore ocean environment.
Publications/Conference Participation:
Troy Nicolini, NOAA/NWS, Eureka, CA; and G. B. Crawford, E. Rogers, T. Williams, E-M Devaliere, and D. Saucedo; A high resolution nearshore wave model and bar forecast model for northwestern California; Sixth Conference on Coastal Atmospheric and Oceanic Prediction and Processes, 2005, Eureka California
Personal Interests:
Eve is active in several outdoor sports such as kayaking, biking and hiking. She enjoys staying active indoors by going to the gym and practicing kickboxing. She not only takes good care of herself but takes a personal interest in taking care of the environment by recycling and using renewable energies. Eve’s hobbies include playing guitar, drawing, reading, watching movies and crafting in the home like furniture restoration. |
