Bio
A resident of the Outer Banks since 1992, Mike spent 11 years working in the marine sciences for the North Carolina Aquariums. Initially an aquarium biologist, in 2003 Mike went on to manage the Jennette’s Fishing Pier, the NC Aquarium Society’s educational facility on the oceanfront in Nags Head. When the pier closed for complete reconstruction in 2006, he took on the role of planning coordinator for the NC Aquariums’ Oyster Hatchery Program. Years of positive collaborative work with UNC CSI led him to his position today.

Personal Interests
Mike is an avid surfer and world traveler who loves spending time with his wife, Aubrey, and daughter, Marin. When not surfing, he can be found tinkering with an assortment of carpentry projects, listening to music, or reading about physics and philosophy.
